Supporting young people who hear, see, or sense things that others don’t.

Voice Collective is a UK–wide project that supports young people who hear voices, see visions, or have other sensory experiences or beliefs.

Online community

If you are between 13-25 you can join our Discord Peer Support Forum and connect with others who may have similar experiences to you.

If you’re hearing, seeing, or sensing things that others don’t, it doesn’t mean that your life is over. You can find ways of dealing with them and live the life you choose.

How do we help?

Children & Young People

We have supported over 1000 CYP over the past 3 years. This has been through email support, one-to-one Zoom calls, peer support groups and creative workshops. Lots of CYP comment on the impact Voice Collective has on their self- esteem, reduced feelings of isolation and improved coping strategies for dealing with voices

“I just wanted to say I love this space so much. I have therapy and a psychiatrist, which helps, but this group is just so human and I really appreciate this space.”

Family members

We also offer support to parents and supporters of CYP hearing voices. This can be through emails or our parent peer support spaces.

“I just want to say a sincere thank you for this evening’s support group. I came away with so much more understanding of my son’s distress. You gave me great hope for his future, thank you”

Professionals

Over 1400 professionals from within the field of mental health have attended one of our training sessions supporting them to understand and work with young people hearing voices.

"This was so helpful and taught me to think of voices in an angle I had never thought of before - can voices be helpful …voices are not always a negative sign, that it is okay to acknowledge the voices with the young person, and to ask specifically what the voices say.”
